THE SEASONAL JOURNAL · ROUTINE NOTES
Why winter doesn’t always mean richer.
A heavier product is not automatically a better winter product. Start with how your own hair responds.
Texture is a starting point, not the whole answer.
Straight, wavy, curly, and coily describe patterns. They do not tell us everything about strand thickness, the amount of hair you have, your styling habits, or what feels comfortable on your scalp. Two people with similar curls can prefer very different routines.
That is why our routine finder asks how your hair feels and what is already working, rather than assigning a whole kit from a curl label alone.
When a lighter approach is worth exploring.
If your routine often feels coated, flat, or more layered than you want, consider simplifying before adding richness. Review product directions and start with the amount suggested for your hair. A lighter conditioning step or fewer styling layers may be worth comparing with your current approach.
Our first edit focuses on fine waves and curls. That does not mean every lightweight product will suit everyone in that group.
When you might explore richer care.
If you want more softness and your hair generally welcomes substantial conditioning, a richer conditioner may be a candidate to compare. Where you apply it and how it fits the rest of the routine still matter. A product can be enjoyable on the lengths and feel different near the roots.
Richer care remains a separate routine direction to explore, not a second launch kit or an automatic match for every curl pattern.
Make the comparison small.
Change one step while keeping the others familiar. Note how your hair feels during your normal routine and how much effort the change adds. If you do not like the result, that is useful information. You do not need to finish a complicated routine just because it was described as seasonal.
Product selection for the first StylingKits collection is still in progress. We will publish the actual contents and who the kit is intended for before accepting pre-orders.
